Embracing Change and Growth
At Lab, we’re lucky to have clients who make our community truly special. Melinda is one of those familiar faces who’s been with us since 2018, and her journey through yoga and life reflects the heart of what we’re all about—growth, connection, and consistency.
“I started around 2018,” Melinda recalls, marking the beginning of her long-term commitment to Lab. Over the years, she’s explored many styles of yoga, from hot and advanced vinyasa to our more mobility-focused classes like Lab Stretch and Flow and Stretch. While she’s shifted her focus to sports mobility and stretching, she’s always maintained her dedication to self-improvement and challenging herself.
“Lab feels like a familiar and cosy place,” Melinda says. Even though many of her friends have stopped practicing yoga, she finds joy in doing her own practice. What keeps her coming back? It’s not just the location (though it’s conveniently close to her home); it’s the community and the quality of the instructors. “I love the harder classes,” she shares. “The more challenging, the more motivated I am.” She values teachers who understand the function of each pose, as their expertise gives her confidence and pushes her to do more.
Yoga at Lab has been transformative for Melinda in many ways. Mentally, it’s given her a sense of connection with other like-minded people, especially in our vibrant, younger student base. Physically, it’s kept her routine strong and her body healthy. “I used to do 5-6 classes a week,” she says, “but now, 1-2 classes a week are enough for me to stay in shape.” Emotionally, the consistency of attending classes and meeting up with classmates has brought a sense of joy and balance to her life.
Melinda’s story is a perfect example of how Lab isn’t just about the workouts—it’s about the connections we build along the way. We’re so grateful to have her as part of our Lab community through the years!
