Welcome to LabX!

LabX is our latest evolution – harnessing the power of Slow Resistance Training (SRT) on the LabFormer to deliver transformative full-body workouts. More than just another fitness class, LabX represents a commitment to strength, endurance, and control through deliberate, science-backed movement.

The Workout that Everybody’s Watching and Every Body Needs.

LabX is designed to meet you where you are and help you progress. Our classes are suitable for anyone seeking a full-body workout that balances intensity and mindfulness – ranging from fitness enthusiasts looking for a smarter, more efficient way to train, to those newly transitioning into resistance training.

Meet the LABFormer – A custom-designed machine that combines the precision of controlled exercises with the intensity of resistance training.

Introducing LabX Base - our first class type!

We’ll be introducing the fundamentals of SRT with LabX Base. This class focuses on building a strong base of proper form and movement on the LabFormer. Expect a full-body workout that blends controlled, deliberate movements with strength and endurance training – not Pilates, but something more.

Transitions are slower, allowing you to focus on alignment and control. But don’t let that fool you – once you land in an exercise, the slow pace keeps muscles under tension for that signature burn. Low impact, high intensity, and absolutely transformative. LabX Base is the ultimate starting point for a powerful fitness journey.

Say Hello to Slow Livin’ with Slow Resistance Training

SRT is a proven method to build strength and endurance while protecting your joints and minimizing the risk of injury. By moving deliberately and slowly, you engage muscles for longer periods, enhancing muscle growth and endurance.

Benefits include:

  • Increased muscle tone and strength
  • Improved focus and control during movement
  • Sustainable results without high-impact strain

Check out our FAQs below!

Is this Pilates?

Technically, LabX is not classical Pilates, but it is Pilates-inspired. It builds on the principles of control, precision, and core engagement while incorporating a modern fitness twist.

If you’re looking for something intense and strength-focused, LabX offers a challenging alternative to traditional Pilates.

How is the machine different from the Reformer?

The Pilates Reformer is a simpler and smaller machine designed for exercises rooted in traditional Pilates principles.

The Labformer is a more complex machine, with platforms, handlebars, bungee, and pulleys, allowing for a broader range of exercises at higher intensities. Check out our Labformer video here

How long is a class? Is it high intensity?

A LabX class is only 45 minutes but packs a punch! It is a high-intensity and low-impact workout, meaning that you get the juicy challenge without putting stress on your joints. Our classes keep your muscles under constant tension for a full-body burn. But remember that you control the resistance and pace, so you can adjust the intensity to suit your needs.

  • Are LabX workouts suitable for pregnancy / postpartum?

LabX can be safe during pregnancy, if you have prior experience with SRT and your doctor has cleared you for exercise. However, modifications will be necessary as your pregnancy progresses to ensure your safety and comfort. If you’re new to LabX, it’s better to start after your pregnancy.

Currently, we will not be taking pregnant clients for LabX, but we’d love to welcome you back postpartum. It is generally recommended to wait at least 6 weeks postpartum with your doctor’s clearance before starting any workout!

Once you’re cleared, LabX can be a great way to rebuild core strength and stability, just let your instructor know so they can provide modifications tailored to your recovery.

What do I need to bring for class?

A towel and a bottle of water. Grip socks are compulsory, so remember to bring yours!
